Congratulations! You can look back on a successful year 2009 because your email communication was in perfect condition. You knew the actual cost of your email system at all times. You were obviously in full control of your company’s email infrastructure. And you probably achieved this with the help of our email experts who precisely analysed your individual email traffic and evaluated how resources were being utilised.

However, are you really sure that you defined and documented your email processes properly? Do you really know which waypoints your emails pass en route to the recipient? In addition to the technical aspects, are you able to assess the legal and organisational requirements regarding email productivity, email security and email archiving? Don’t be unsettled. 3. iQ.Suite news: iQ.Suite Store 5.0 with full-text search

January 2010 is all about email archiving. We will be starting the new year with a major release of iQ.Suite Store 5.0 for Lotus Domino and Microsoft Exchange. iQ.Suite Store is the reliable solution when it comes to offloading up mailbox environments and archiving emails. But just as important as archiving emails is retrieving them again afterwards. And this is where our new full-text search functionality comes in.

This powerful feature will complement the existing functions, which search the header data of an email. In future, therefore, you will be able to search the entire body of an email. You can even search the attachments of an email for specific content. In addition, the new version of iQ.Suite Store will contain numerous fixes and improvements to enhance stability and performance.

5. iQ.Suite tips & tricks for Lotus Domino: controlling jobs by inserting a command in the subject line

Standardised rules are the key to increasing efficiency and security in the field of email management. Sometimes, however, it can make sense to add user-specific content to this standard set of rules.

For example, if you want a user to be able to decide whether a job is performed or not, you can deactivate certain standard rules or use alternatives instead. Commands inserted into the subject line are the ideal solution. For more information on how to do this, you will see here.

6. Exchange/SMTP corner: configuring an email auto-responder

An email auto-responder is a function that automatically returns a message to the sender when the email arrives (autoreply). It can be used e.g. to let the sender know that the recipient is away on vacation.

One of the many practical functions of our iQ.Suite Wall email security solution is the ability of external communication partners to request public PGP keys via the email auto-responder function.

Read here how to configure this function quickly and learn which particular aspects have to be observed.
