1. iQ.Suite news: greater mobility and security!
GROUP continues to be active on your behalf. And we are delighted to present the latest iQ.Suite releases as of calendar week 29. Mobility is the key new feature of these iQ.Suite versions. As of now, we can offer our customers the option of mobile access to the iQ.Suite Wall quarantine notifications. GROUP partners can also use the new interface to develop their own Blackberry applications for linking to the iQ.Suite.
There’s another important innovation in the field of security, where GROUP has integrated the new Avira anti-spam technology SPACE as a beta version with immediate effect. This gives you the opportunity to try out the performance capability of the Avira SPACE engine for yourselves. Future versions of the iQ.Suite will include Avira spam protection as an option in the iQ.Suite Wall module. Your sales partner will be able to provide you with price information shortly.

2. iQ.Suite ClientAdmin: managing the chaos
The Lotes Notes tabs, icons and bookmarks often constitute valuable corporate know-how which is not given the attention it deserves. In many companies, it is the Notes client that determines the fate of the user, not vice versa. This can result in databases and documents proving difficult to locate, as well as chaotic desktops, complex working environments and inefficient replication settings. All this can be quite easily prevented, however.
iQ.Suite ClientAdmin was developed specifically in order to cope with these challenges. The GROUP solution enables central management of all Notes-relevant parameters. Permanently effective rules enable realtime control of unparalleled efficiency to be established. Server access can be controlled, network traffic reduced and access redirected or prevented, to name just several examples.
In a nutshell: iQ.Suite ClientAdmin works to prevent problems before they even arise. Transparency is accorded top priority here. You retain an overview of individual Notes settings and can also roll out global parameters throughout the company. Efficiency in Notes management is thus raised to a whole new level.

3. iQ.Suite tips & tricks of iQ.Suite for Lotus Domino: use of Realtime Blackhole List (RBL)
The percentage of spam emails in circulation is getting higher all the time, with the 90 % barrier even being broken on occasion. So there is ample reason to pursue a number of approaches in an effort to stem this rising tide. The Domino server has joined forces with the iQ.Suite to produce a solution known as Realtime Blackhole Listing (RBL).
Our training courses will teach you how to develop a sensible and permanently effective spam prevention concept. Why not visit us? We look forward to meeting you.
You can find out more about RBL and how it can be used in conjunction with iQ.Suite here.
4. The Exchange/SMTP corner: Solving the problem of non-delivery mails as spam
Spam is the no. 1 productivity killer. And, what’s more, it’s not only the recipients of an email who are bothered by the increasing amounts of spam around. In many cases, the assumed sender also receives a reply. This is because spam senders misuse existing sender addresses to send their emails.
If these emails are addressed to non-existent recipients, the assumed sender then receives a non-delivery report (NDR) for each non-deliverable email. This floods the inbox with unsolicited NDRs. The iQ.Suite 7 can be used to block these emails. You can find out how it all works here.
5. Euro-Sox is law!
The term Euro-Sox - rather loosely defined - refers to the specifications set out in the 8th EU Directive which have been implemented nationally throughout the European Union as of 1st July 2008. This has satisfied a major requirement for the implementation of binding compliance regulations throughout Europe.
The companies concerned are now obliged to adopt appropriate Euro-Sox-compliant measures. There are many internal "anchor points" to which compliance provisions can be attached: organisational units such as governance, risk and compliance departments could be established; compliance-critical processes could be subjected to more stringent scrutiny; the communication process between customers and providers could be accorded a more central role. IT compliance requirements in respect of data protection could become a topic, as could the practical applicability of IT security standards - ISO 27001, BSI standards, IT basic protection etc.
In any event, it is certainly well worth taking Euro-Sox seriously, launching an internal corporate debate and taking advice from outside the company where necessary. The 8th EU Directive should not be regarded as either a curse or a blessing, but should be seen as an opportunity to tackle the compliance requirements of the future by means of appropriate measures. We will be happy to help you with both words and actions. Just ask us!
