2. GROUP Technologies AG has new worldwide headquarters
Frankfurt is a financial centre with a worldwide reputation. It is also right in the middle of one of the world’s most successful economic regions and is a city in which numerous companies have established themselves. During the first half of 2008, GROUP Technologies AG will be relocating its new worldwide headquarters to the heart of Frankfurt city.
This relocation is not just a consequence of GROUP Technologies’ dynamic development; it is also pointing the way for success in the entire European market. Frankfurt’s central location, excellent infrastructure, including continental Europe’s largest airport, its concentration of forward-looking companies in various sectors and its status as an international city will all provide an ideal platform for our growth.
Shareholders should have the opportunity to obtain an initial impression of our new headquarters at the general meeting to be held in June.
3. Tipps & Tricks of iQ.Suite for Lotus Domino: Getting to grips with Office 2007 file formats
Now that Microsoft’s new Office version has been released, we have been receiving a lot of questions recently about the file restrictions of iQ.Suite.
The structure of a file is what basically determines the configuration of the fingerprints that are used to ensure reliable detection. For successful processing of MS Office 2007 documents, users have to know their structure and make-up, just as with all other documents. Since this structure is completely different to the previous file formats used, it is no longer enough to limit checks to just one particular Office 2007 fingerprint.
Click the following link to learn more about the structure of these files and how to work with them in iQ.Suite.
If you would like to learn more about files, their structure, and processing them with iQ.Suite, why not inquire about attending our training sessions. We look forward to seeing you there!
4. iQ.Suite WebCrypt - a successful launch
iQ.Suite WebCrypt was unveiled for the first time to an intrigued audience on the 17th and 18th of January. Many representatives of different sectors were there to check out our new e-mail encryption solution. The security, user-friendliness and data protection aspects attracted the greatest interest.
Basic information on the solution`s architecture was provided, but the highlight was undoubtedly the live demonstration of iQ.Suite WebCrypt. Attendees were able to obtain a close up view of just how simple the task of E-mail encryption can be - and how keys and certificates can be totally dispensed with.
Further information about the launch of our new product is contained in the following press release.
5. Wilful blindness, conscious disregard and deliberate ignorance - need to know more?
Organisations that do business with the USA are increasingly coming under the scrutiny of the American authorities, who are starting to carry out investigations based on the Foreign Corrupt Practises Act (FCPA). The main objective of the compliance rules of the FCPA is to stem worldwide corruption, i.e. a legal framework was created in order to uncover instances of bribery and corruption and make them punishable.
Meanwhile, the fines imposed have risen to eight-figure sums. The focus of attention is the granting of a benefit to an office-holder, with whose help new business deals are concluded or prior business continued. The FCPA aims to put a stop to this by all means and make such acts punishable. `Knowing` and `seeing` nothing definitely does not count as an excuse. On the contrary: If prohibitions are deliberately ignored (`conscious disregard`) or if a person is deliberately negligent (`wilful blindness`) or if rules are simply ignored (`deliberate ignorance`), then conviction will usually follow.
That is why we recommend paying very close attention to all E-mails sent and received to ensure that absolutely no initial suspicion arises. Doing this manually can be very time-consuming, so we recommend an automated, process-oriented approach. Which is one more reason to get in touch with us...
6. The Exchange/SMTP corner: Block spam E-mails sent to unknown recipients
Following the extremely positive feedback we received about our new Exchange/SMTP corner, this month we would like to tackle the subject of spam. This annoying phenomenon is increasingly eating away at productivity and blocks the channels of communication.
Organisations are constantly being hit by new waves of attack. Meanwhile, the people who send spam are becoming more and more resourceful. The result is that many organisations are bombarded each day with thousands of spam E-mails that are directed to non-existent addresses. These e-mails cause a deluge of NDR’s (Non Delivery Reports), which in turn needlessly hold up E-mail queues.
iQ.Suite Wall offers a quick and easy remedy for this problem. You can find out how it works by clicking on the following link.
7. Discontinuation of older versions of iQ.Suite
We highlighted two important innovations in our last newsletter: iQ.Suite 11 for Lotus Domino and iQ.Suite 7 for Microsoft Exchange/SMTP. These two versions are the latest additions to the successful product line of our E-mail management solution. However it also means that previous versions will be discontinued.
To give you adequate advance notice, you will find below a brief overview of the versions affected:
- 31.12.2008: iQ.Suite Version 9.x for Lotus Notes Domino 6/7
- 31.12.2009: iQ.Suite Version 10.x for Lotus Notes Domino 6/7/8
- 31.12.2008: iQ.Suite Version 5.x for MS Exchange 2000/2003 and SMTP
- 31.12.2009: iQ.Suite Version 6.x for MS Exchange 2000/2003 and SMTP
Discontinuation means that from this date, we will no longer provide technical support, software fixes, etc. for these versions. We thank you for your understanding.
